A TRIO OF NICE HORSES AT BENDIGO TODAY

Three runners for us at Bendigo today starting with Fort Laramie in the first race.

Fort Laramie will be ridden by Patrick Moloney in the 1100 metre contest for two-year-olds and Mike Moroney has made a gear change on the son of Frosted.

“We’ve added blinkers to help him concentrate and his recent trackwork suggests it has had the desired effect,” Mike explained.

“He has taken nice improvement form his debut run and his work leading into this run has been good.

“Always difficult to be confident in these race however, we feel that he is an each way chance in what looks a solid race.”

Comancheria debuts in the second race over 1400 metres with Declan Bates to ride the son of Ocean Park.

“We feel that Comancheria is improving with every gallop and will make a lovely stayer over time,” Mike said.

“The team tell me his work on Saturday morning was very good and while the 1400 metres today may be too short look for him to be finishing off strongly and he’s capable of sneaking a place as we build into the preparation.”

Falcon Of Malta (pictured) rounds out our day in race seven over 1600 metres with Blake Shinn in the saddle.

“His last start second in the big VOBIS Mile at Caulfield was excellent and he’s come on for that,” Mike said.

“He’s got a big weight however, he has earned it and is a fine stamp of a horse so it should be too much of a hindrance in this class.

“He has trained on extremely well and we feel he will be very hard to beat today.”
