Town and country runners for us today with White Bear and Milford at home and First Appearance heading to Echuca.

First Appearance is the first to go in race one over 2124 metres under Brad Rawiller and Mike Moroney suggests the step up in trip will suit Tofane’s younger sister.

“She’s fitter after two runs and the way she is shaping will be well suited by the step up in trip.” Mike said.

“The scratchings have helped with the wide draw and she’s got a good experienced rider to help her.

“The team tell me her work on Tuesday was very pleasing and this looks a good chance for her to break her maiden with ordinary luck.”

Jordan Childs is aboard White Bear in race five at Flemington on the straight course over 1100 metres.

“We couldn't be happier with him,” Mike said. “He continues to work well and is holding his condition.

“He runs again in a benchmark 70 where he finished a good second last start. The only unknown is it is his first time down the straight which can be tricky for horses.

“We feel if he handles the straight course then I think he prove very competitive.”

Milford (pictured0 run in the ninth race over 1600 metres with Declan Bates to ride.

“He’s going well and we’re happy with him,” Mike said. “I thought his first-up run was more than respectable and out to 1600 metres he should finishing strongly.

“With his second-up record and the way he looks a placing wouldn't surprise.”
