“It’s unfortunate for him that he’s also drawn wide but it is what it is so we have to take our medicine,” Mike said.

“He blew out late first-up but he’s come on since and he’s fitter for today. I think the best chance for him at 1600 is to go back from the barrier and then run on but it’s a big field, a Group One, so like everyone else we will need some luck but we’re very happy with the horse.”

Big Watch and Japanese Emperor are our other two runners with last start winner Big Watch in race three with Jamie Mott again in the saddle.

“We could not be happier with him, he was nice and bright this morning and in good order,” Mike said.

“He’s fit for the 1200 and I don’t think the trip will be a problem and i think he’s a great chance to make it back-to-back wins.”

“He’s finally drawn a decent barrier and he’s in good order,” Mike said. “He continues to work well, he looks great and the riders in morning are saying he’s in good form.

“The favourite is the obvious one to beat but if he can reproduce his best I’m sure he will not be far away.”
