Wall Street headlines our weekend action

It is a relatively quiet weekend for Ballymore stables but hopefully a winning one with Wall Street taking his place in Saturday's feature event, the $500,000 Gr.1 Doomben Cup.

A last start sixth in the Hollindale Stakes, the classy seven-year-old was, says Michael Moroney "a bit disappointing," but he is hoping the heavy track was to blame.

"They were quite testing conditions," he said, "and I think the form from that race may turn around."

"In saying that," he added, "it is a very strong Doomben Cup and he will need to be at his best to win it."

A four times Gr.1 winner Wall Street certainly is good enough on his day so fingers crossed he can put his best hoof forward.

We will also saddle up two runners at Flemington on Saturday, kicking off with the talented Noble Park (pictured).

To be ridden by Nick Hall in the Baden Baden Trophy, the son of Pins boasts a very good record at the Flemington 2000m and has been racing well this time in.

"It looks a pretty strong race," Moroney conceded, "but he has trained on well."

"He has not always been the easiest horse to train but he seems to be alight at the moment - a race like this will give us a good guide as to where he is at with the spring in mind."

Maythehorsebemagic tackles blacktype in the Listed Andrew Ramsden Stakes, a race we'd love to win with Andrew such a great friend of the stable!

"He has a bit of weight (60kg)," said Moroney, "but we are very confident he will run out the trip."

A horse who displayed hurdling ability in New Zealand, Maythehorsebemagic may hopefully add himself to the list of Zabeels who have won over the Flemington two miles!
