BANKING ON A FEATURE RACE SATURDAY

Three feature race runners a Caulfield today including Bankers Choice in the feature Zipping Classic.

John Allen is aboard in the Group 2 contest over 2400 metres and Mike Moroney is pleased with the way Bankers Choice (pictured) has come through his last start.

“We’re happy him and it is shaping like he will get his preferred soft ground which will help him,” Mike said.

“My query is the distance but I’ve put ear muffs on to get him to settle. I’m expecting it to be truly run and as I said, my only query is how he will go at 2400 metres but he’s as fit as we can get him so this looks a nice race to try him in.”

Swords Drawn runs in the Eclipse Stakes over 1800 metres with Daniel Stackhouse riding.

“The rain is a help and he’s drawn nicely in what looks like it will be truly run,” Mike said.

“He was terrific first-up and he’s done well since.

“Today’s trip might be a wee bit short for him but he’s going well and I’m expecting him to run well.”

Not An Option is in the Kevin Heffernan Stakes over 1400 metres with Michael Dee in the saddle.

“He’ll jump from the inside barrier now after scratchings which makes it intersting,” Mike said.

“He’s been drawn off the track and forced to go back his last two starts which did not suit but today it is in his favour.

“He’s going well, the small field suits and I think he’s a winning chance at odds.”
