OUR HEART BEATS FASTER ON A CLASSIC DAY

We have four runners on Thousand Guineas day at Caulield, headed by Coeur Volante in the fillies classic.

The Group 1 Thousand Guineas is race seven with Coeur Volante (pictured) drawn barrier five and to be ridden by Blake Shinn.

The exciting daughter of Proisir has pleased Mike Moroney since her last start win in the Guineas Prelude.

“We’re very happy with her and her form stacks up,” Mike said.

“She’s thrived since her last start, added a little bit of weight which is good and her work has been terrific.

“The time between runs has suited her, she came out bouncing this morning and i think it is all about luck in running and I think she is the one they all have to beat.”

Buffalo River looks to extend his winning sequence in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes over 1400 metres under Celine Gaudrey.

“He’s in great order, just a pity about the horror draw at this level,” Mike said referring to the outside barrier.

“Against that he drops a huge amount in weight, he races well at Caulfield and he gets on well with Celine.

“Ideally he can glide to the front, he’s going really well and he just needs some luck in running.”

Run Harry Run has won his last two starts and runs in the Blue Sapphire Stakes over 1400 metres with Daniel Stackhouse again to ride.

“We’re happy with him, he keeps on improving and he’s drawn lovely in barrier three,” Mike said.

“He’s going terrific, it’s a step up in class but he keeps on improving and I’m sure he’ll run well.”

Bankers Choice is top-weight in the Country Cups Final over 2000 metres.

“He’s got his share of weight and drawn wide but I think he’s the best horse in the race,” Mike said.

“The barrier is not as much of an issue for him as he gets back and he’s got Blake Shinn in the saddle.

“He’s going well at home, we’ve kept him fresh for today and I just hope it’s truly run and then he won’t be far away.”
