READY FOR SOME WINNERS AT SANDOWN TODAY

Three runners on the Lakeside course at Sandown for us today, kicking off with Refreshing in the first race.

Damien Oliver is in the saddle and Mike Moroney is anticipating another forward showing from the daughter of Star Turn who has placed at her last three starts.

“I was pleased with her first-up run at Werribee on a heavy track,” Mike said. “She was always going to improve for the run but she ran on well after being second last early.

“She’s done well since and should be improved again today on a better surface. She’s fitter for today and unless there is something special amongst the unraced brigade than I’m expecting her to run well again and prove hard to beat.”

Let’s Say Grace runs in the second race with Wiremu Pinn aboard after she failed to fire last time out after a strong win first-up at Cranbourne.

“It may have been second-up syndrome but she’s trained on well since that last start at Sandown and I’m happy with her,” Mike said.

“It looks a handy enough race for this level with five last start winners engaged but we’ve got Wiremu’s claim to help her and with ordinary luck she is there to run well.”

Tasman Park (pictured) rounds out our day in the seventh race and also with Wiremu Pinn riding.

“He’s ready to win I’d say and a repeat of his good last start second here where he looked the winner 200 metres out should have him in the finish,” Mike said.

“I’m happy with him, he’s trained on well since and with ordinary luck in running I expect him to be hard to beat.”
