A BUSY SATURDAY AT HOME

A busy Saturday for us with six runners at home at Flemington, starting with The Hindustan on debut in the second race.

The Hindustan will be ridden by Billy Egan and Mike Moroney believes starting at 1420 metres is the right trip for the son of Savabeel.

“He’s struck a strong field for this time of year but he’s had a bit of practice both in New Zealand and here and is ready to go,” Mike said.

“He’s got nice talent and if he does everything right then I will not be at all surprised to see him run well in a strong race.

“He’s going as well as we’ve had him starting a preparation and he’s behaving a lot better now,” Mike said.

“He’s still got a bit of improvement in him appearance wise but if he runs up to his work and jumpouts then I do expect him to be hard to beat today.”

Not An Option will enjoy the firmer surface when he runs in the sixth race under Patrick Moloney

“He’s drawn ideally and on a firmer surface he’s got a bit going his way,” Mike said.

“He’s been up a while and done a bit of travelling but he looks terrific and I cant fault him. With that in mind we’ve aimed to keep him on the fresh side and if he brings his best form then I’m expecting him to be in the finish.”

“He’s got a bit of weight to carry but he looks terrific and has trained on well from as luckless last start,” Mike said.

“He’s a big strong horse now so he should be up to carrying weight and if he can get a sharp start and race on the pace then I do think he can win with an ounce of luck.”

Big Watch and Setteveli are both last start winners and round out our day when they run in the last race over 1100 metres with Billy Egan aboard Big Watch and Daniel Stackhouse on Setteveli.

“I’m very happy with him and it will be interesting to see how he goes down the straight,” Mike said.

“I don’t think there is a lot between him and Big Watch and if has improved a little bit then he should be in the finish.

“Big Watch has trained on nicely and his work this week has been sharp so we go into today with a degree of confidence.

“It’s an even looking race and if he can get the right run down the straight with a bit of cover then I do think he will run well in what does look an even race with several chances.”
