TRIO UNLEASHED AT GEELONG

Three Sunday runners for us at Geelong with Unleash, The Duke Of Dubai and Crimmo heading to the races.

Unleash is the first to go in the fourth race over 1418 metres with Billy Egan to ride.

The daughter of Capitalist has finished runner-up at her last two starts and Mike Moroney is hoping she can go one better today.

“She’s racing well and I can’t fault her,” Mike said. “The soft going will not be an issue, I’m more concerned with the wide draw but Billy rode her last start and has a feel for her now so we’ll leave it up to him.

“She comes up against Winx’s half-sister to debut which will make it interesting but I’m sure our filly will be competitive.

The Duke Of Dubai is in the fifth race over 1418 metres under Daniel Stackhouse, second-up today but he has also drawn awkwardly.

“He’ll jump from ten now after scratchings which is not ideal, especially with the rail out but it is what it is,” Mike said.

“He’s done well from his first-up run at Cranbourne where I thought he was better than the bare result suggests.

“He’s won second-up before and his best form will have him right in this so as long as he can have some luck from the draw I’m expecting him to be in the finish.”

Egan also partners Crimmo (pictured) in the eighth race over 1518 metres.

“I’m happy with him but he looks to have struck a strong race,” Mike said.

“The blinkers have certainly sharpened our horse and he’s going well at home so with ordinary luck I do think he will prove hard to beat.”
