SAME RACE RUNNERS AT BENDIGO TODAY

Two runners in the same race at Bendigo for us today with Setteveli and Full Blown involved.

Both run in the second race, a Benchmark 64 Handicap for three-year-olds over 1100 metres with Patrick Moloney to ride Full Blown and Daniel Stackhouse aboard Setteveli.

It is the first start this preparation for Full Blown (pictured), who led most of the way to win his last start here at Bendigo on a heavy track.

“The soft conditions today should not prove an issue for him and I’m happy with the way he has trained coming into this,” Mike Moroney said.

“I don’t normally like running horses in the same race but that is the way it has worked out.

“This looks a pretty strong type of benchmark race with seven last start winners involved, including Full Blown. He’s forward enough to run well but I do think he will improve for the run.

“The wide draw is less than ideal but he should put himself on speed and be competitive.”

Setteveli resumed at Pakenham last month and while Mike was disappointed with the effort, he is expecting a better effort today.

“I’ll be honest I was disappointed with his last start but there were extenuating circumstances so we have had to put a line under it and start again,” Mike said.

“His best form certainly gives him a winning chance and he’s drawn nicely so I will be looking for him to bounce back today all things being equal.”
