Day and night runners for us today with Myrtle Creek and Amoramio at Seymour then General Firepower under the Pakenham lights.

Myrtle Creek is in race seven over 1200 metres with Fred Kersley aboard.

“Scratchings have got her a start which I’m pleased about,” Mike said. “She disappointed as favourite last start at Kilmore but the track was heavy that day and she is not suited by it.

“Her first Australian start she was only neaten a length in a blanket finish at Geelong in Benchmark 58 grade and a repeat of that effort in the same grade today should see her competitive.”

Amoramio is in the eighth race over 1000 metres with Madison Lloyd in the saddle.

“She is similar in as much as her first two races here on good tracks were respectable before disappointing last start at Benalla on a soft track so she will be better back on a firmer surface today.” Mike said.

“She’s down in grade in what looks a pretty even sort of race. She’s drawn out a bit in 11 but with ordinary luck it will be no surprise to see her run well, especially on a firmer surface.

Tom Prebble is aboard General Firepower (pictured) in race eight tonight. “He’s a little while between runs and he’s done well in between,” Mike said.

“His win at Sale was impressive and then he just blew out late at Sandown last start finishing fourth.

“We’ve taken advantage of Tom’s claim to help and from barrier four he should get the right run and be hard to beat.”
