FALCON TO TAKE FLIGHT AT WARRNAMBOOL

We have two runners at Warrnambool today including Falcon Of Malta making his debut.

The son of Fiorente runs in the second race, the 3YO Maiden over 1300 metres with Fred Kersley aboard and Mike Moroney says the gelding is ready to go to the races.

“He’s a horse that we’ve given time and I believe he’ll make a nice middle-distance horse eventually,” Mike said.

“He’s drawn nicely and this is a good starting point for him.

“It’s a difficult race to assess with a six other first starters and a last start VRC Oaks third engaged but I’m looking for him to have a good experience, balance up and I will be happy to see him running on at the finish.

Remix runs in the fifth race over 1700 metres with Damien Thornton riding and drawn in barrier two.

“He’s had two runs this time in and the step up in trip will suit him,” Mike said.

“I’ve got an eye on the weather, all his runs have been on good ground so if the rain did arrive it will make things interesting.

“I’m happy with the horse and with ordinary luck I think he will be hard to beat.”
