WINNING CHANCES TONIGHT AT CRANBOURNE

Full Blown, Wisaka and Nerve Not Verve are our Friday night runners with Nerve Not Verve in the feature Pinker Pinker Plate at Cranbourne.

Nerve Not Verve (pictured) finished runner-up in the Group 3 JRA Cup over 2040 metres at Moonee Valley last time out and Mike Moroney is confident the seven-year-old will run well tonight in a field reduced to five rivals after scratchings.

“It looks a nice progression for her tonight as we head towards the Moonee Valley Cup,” Mike said.

“She’s got her share of weight but I think she’s not too badly treated considering her record and the depth of opposition.

“Jamie Kah is riding so we don’t lose anything there and the mare herself is in good order, nice and bright and he work on Tuesday was excellent.

“She has some wet track form so she should not be inconvenienced by it and I think that all things being equal she will be hard to beat.”

Full Blown runs in the fourth race over 1000 metres with Daniel Stackhouse aboard.

“He’s been placed on a heavy track so he should be alright in the ground,” Mike said.

“He’s worked well going into this, I’m putting a line through his last start where he just did not handle the synthetic track and he’s a better horse than that.

“The race tonight has been knocked about by scratchings but it’s still an interesting race and hard to line up what form there is in it with four of the six runners first starters.

“I can’t fault our horse and he’s going there fit and well and I’m expecting him to run well.”  

Wisaka has been in work for some time but has had a freshen ahead of his race over 2000 metres.

"He's holding his condition well and I'm happy with him," Mike said. "He had an easy jumpout last Friday and tonight looks a winnable race for him I think. He'll have no problem with the trip and I'm expecting him to run a big race."
