FRIDAY SYNTHETIC RUNNERS

Three runners for us on the synthetic track at Ballarat today with Full Blown, Tequila Spirit and The Duke Of Dubai racing.

Full Blown is the first to go in the first race, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1100 metres with Daniel Stackhouse aboard.

“He’s done some work on the synthetic here and he’s had a jump out on it here so I’m happy to let him take his chance,” Mike said.

“I’d say he maps to race forward which is where you want to be on this track away from the kick-back.

“He’s improved off his debut effort which was sound and while it’s hard to get a good line on the race with some first starters and some handy form I do think he is a winning chance all things being equal.”

Tequila Spirit runs in the fifth race, the Class 1 Handicap over 1100 metres and drawn barrier one under Jordan Childs.

“She’s raced well here previously and she’s drawn well provided she gets away sharply,” Mike said.

“She’s trained on well, is nice and fit, her work has been good enough so depending on how the race pans out I’m confident she will be competitive.”

The Duke Of Dubai (pictured) runs the eighth race over 1400 metres with Daniel Stackhouse riding.

“He’s racing well and I can’t fault him going into this,” Mike said. “He finished second on this track at his only start on it - the wide draw is the awkward part as it is usually difficult to make ground but he’s fit and well and with ordinary luck I expect him to be in the finish.”
