Friday at the twilight

Ballymore heads to the Cranbourne twilight meeting on Friday, saddling up two runners - Roll With Pulse and All Out War.

Having only his second run this preparation and his fourth overall, Roll With Pulse contests the fourth race on the programme, the Cranbourne Holden 3Y0 Maiden Plate.

Likely to appreciate the step up to 1300m after resuming over 1000m, Roll With Pulse has drawn nicely in barrier three for Lisa Cropp.

"We made a bit of a blue kicking off over 1000," Michael Moroney said, "and we expect improvement over this longer trip. He is a horse who has always shown us a fair bit."

A $20,000 Classic Sale purchase for Paul Moroney, Roll With Pulse is by Group winning sprinter Zariz out of the unraced Centaine mare Princess Canny from the family of current star Sepoy and the Gr.1 winners Canny Lad, Canny Lass, Camarena and Camarilla.

Impressive taking out his maiden by nearly two lengths at his most recent outing, All Out War should again prove hard to toss in the seventh race, the 0-62 Country Showcase.

"He has trained on really well," Moroney enthused, adding that he was pleasantly surprised that the son of Galileo was able to break his maiden over 1750m - "it was a trip shorter than we thought he would be winning at," he said.

The 2060m of Friday's event will, Moroney says, suit the well regarded import all the more and barrier 7 for Andrew Mallyon looks suitable.

Purchased for 37,000 guineas by Paul Moroney at the 2010 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale at Newmarket, All Out War by Galileo hails from the famil of the Gr.1 winners Darshaan, Darara, Dar Re Mi, Rewilding, Darazari, Diaghilev and Daliapour.
