A BIG DAY FOR US ON THE LAKESIDE

A big day for us on the Lakeside course at Sandown today with six runners, kicking off with Connecticut and Japanese Emperor both making their debut in the first race.

Daniel Stackhouse will ride Connecticut who has been fitted with a cross-over nose band for his first day at the races. “He’s a nice son of Written Tycoon we have been patient with,” Mike Moroneysaid. “He’s had two jump outs to get him ready, winning his last one albeit with only two to beat.

“He’s taken nice improvement from that and like our other runner this is a good starting point for for him.”

Jamie Mott is aboard Japanese Emperor from a wide barrier. “His work and jump outs have been good and this is a nice starting point for him,” Mike said. “He will be better as he gets out in distance in feel. From the wide draw he will likely be ridden back and I will be looking for him to be finishing strongly.”

Michigan''' runs in the second race with Jordan Childs riding and an important gear change. “I’m very pleased with him going into this race,” Mike said. “I’ve taken the pacifers off which caused him to over race last start. He has drawn a good barrier and this looks a very suitable race.”

King Halston is in race four, also with Jordan Childs aboard. “He’s very fit, is holding his condition well and has continued to work well. He deserves a change of luck after being placed his last two starts in town and with ordinary luck I think he will be hard to beat”

Lady In The Sky runs in race five with Jye McNeil to ride. “She has worked very well and this looks a very suitable race for her dropping back to fillies and mares class,” Mike said. “My one concern is the ground, hopefully the track can improve from the heavy 9 it is at the moment as she has run her best races on firmer ground.”

Asteroidea (pictured) rounds out our day in race six with Ethan Brown riding. “Her work this week has been first class and now third-up she is primed to run very well,” Mike said. “The unknown is the heavy track which she hasn't raced on before . If she handles the ground the he will be hard to beat.”
