WINNING CHANCES TODAY AT WARRNAMBOOL

Just three runners for us at Warrnambool today with Ceasar, Zagusto and Nerve Not Verve while Milford stays at home to wait for Saturday.

Last start winner Ceasar (pictured) gets us off to an early start in the second race over 1400 metres with John Allan aboard and Mike is anticipating another strong performance.

It’s going to be a testing track but he’s got some heavy track form in New Zealand but they are all different,” Mike said.

“I’m really happy with the horse, he’s worked well and is in fine fettle so I’m expecting another good run from him.

“I think he looks well placed in this class and provided the track does not deteriorate too much I think he will prove hard to beat.”

Last start Group winner Nerve Not Verve runs in the feature Warrnambool Cup over 2350 metres with Regan Bayliss in the saddle.

“I can’t fault her, she’s come through the Sydney trip in terrific order and has coped with her racing well,” Mike said.

“I’m as confident as can be, she should be ok in the ground and I’m sure she will run really well.”

Zagusto book ends the day for us in the last race over 1300 metres with Patrick Moloney aboard.

“He won well last start and although we are not absolutely sure about him in this type of ground his style of running should suit,” Mike said.

“We’ll be keeping an eye on how the track races today before making a decision on tactics but we’re very happy with the horse, he’s trained on well since his last start and I’m sure he’ll be in the finish as long as he copes with the ground.”

Mike elected to scratch Milford from the Cup due to the going and with the option to run at Caulfield on Saturday.
