WINNING CHANCES FOR US AT TERANG

Ice Burj and Heaven can give us something to cheer at Terang today.

Ice Burj runs in the second race over 1200 metres and Mike Moroney is expecting the son of Pride Of Dubai to run well.

“He’s drawn nicely and I’m happy with him,” Mike said. “He was respectable first-up finishing third at Kilmore nearly one month ago and he has done well since.

“He’s improved at home but he will need to as it’s a stronger race with some good form in it. If there is nothing exceptional amongst the unraced brigade then I do think our horse will prove hard to beat.”

The beautifully bred Heavan runs in race four over 1850 metres with Robbie Downey also riding but has unfortunately drawn the outside.

“It doesn’t look the hardest race but she needs to do things right, she’s still learning her craft,” Mike said.

“We’ve waited to run here as it’s such a big roomy track which should suit her. The barrier is unfortunate and forces us to go back but she’s improving all the time and with luck in running I’m confident she will run well.”
