“He's trained on very well since his last start win which he’ll need to be as he’s up in class tonight,” Mike said.

“That said the horse is in great form, has the advantage of Mark Zahra - my one little concern is how he will handle Moonee Valley but if he can do that then I’m sure he will be in the finish.”

Nerve Not Verve is in race six for fillies and mares over 2040 metres with Logan McNeil’s claim to help.

“I don’t know what to put her disappointing run last start down to, it might have been seasonal but it was not her true form” Mike said.

“She likes the track, I can’t fault her and if she runs up to her form then she is the one they have to beat.”

Snapper is in race eight over 1200 metres with Mark Zahra aboard but drawn out in barrier seven in the field of nine after scratchings.

“I’ve put blinkers on him tonight and if he can fly the gates the plan is to go forward,” Mike said.

“He’s taken a little while physically to strengthen up since being gelded but he’s started to pick up now and looks as well as he has for some time.

“He’s fit enough and good enough to run a race and I expect him to run well.”
