Poiema runs in race one for two-year-olds over 1000 metres with Jye McNeil aboard and Mike Moroney

“She’s been professional and shown us good natural talent throughout and is forward enough without being fully wound up,” Mike said.

“She’s a natural runner and I’m happy with her. She’s struck what looks a strong race which is to be expected at this time of the year with a few in it being touted.

“I’m sure she will acquit herself well and be in it for a long way, just how she will cope when the pressure comes on will be the key.”

Snapper runs in race four over 1100 metres and has the advantage of Logan McNeil’s claim.

“He’ll jump from barrier seven after scratchings and I think he’ll be better suited around a bend,” Mike said.

“He’s taken good improvement from his first-up run and his work has been good so I think he’s in the race with a winning chance, the only thing I wouldn’t want to see is any more rain.”

Hang Man (pictured) is our other runner in race six over 2000 metres with Jye McNeil in the saddle.

“He’s drawn the outside however, he only has six to beat so that should not be too much of an issue,” Mike said.

“I’m hoping the track stays in the good (4) range as I’m very happy with him and his condition. I’ve added a shadow roll to him to keep him interested and I’m hoping it’s run at a true tempo which will suit him and if he runs up to his work then he is certainly a winning chance.”
