BERMADEZ BACK TODAY AT SALE

Bermadez has gained a start at Sale today to give us three runners.

Scratchings mean Bermadez runs in the last race, a heat of the MCCC Series worth $100,000 over 1400 metres.

It is the first start this preparation for Bermadez (pictured) who has pleased Mike Moroney on the training track.

“He’s trialled up very well and I’m extremely happy with him,” Mike said.

“It’s a strong race and I’m not worried about him drawing the outside barrier.

“I think he’s nicely weighted and Damien Oliver is heading down to ride him so that’s a big positive.

“As I said, he’s trialled up very well and even with it being a competitive race I do think that if he brings his best form he will be winning.”

The Psychologist and Tour Of Duty are our other runners today with The Psychologist the first to go in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1400 metres with Billy Egan aboard.

“I’m happy to run him - he failed last start on a heavy track but today is just in the soft range and should be improving on a fine day,” Mike said.

“I’ve added blinkers to him and they have certainly sharpened him up.

“It’s a tricky race to assess with not a lot of form in it but I’m happy with our horse and he’s certainly improved from his last start.”

Last start winner Tour Of Duty runs in race four, the benchmark 64 handicap over 2200 metres with Jamie Mott to ride.

“The soft ground is not a concern, my one query is him stepping up in distance on his last start win here at Sale over 1732 metres,” Mike said.

“At this stage the plan is to go forward and race near the speed, he only has half a kilo more than last start and I’m sure he’ll run well again.”
