WINNING CHANCES FOR US ON SUNDAY

No rest for the wicked with two runners for us on Sunday with Tour Of Duty and Rainbow Thief travelling to Cranbourne.

We book end the meeting with Tour Of Duty in the first race, the Maiden Plate over 1600m with Jordan Childs aboard and drawn in barrier six with nine rivals.

“He’s second-up today and trained on nicely from his good third last start,” Mike said.

“It looks an interesting field with some form in it but I don’t think our horse is entitled to be a maiden still.

“I’m happy with the way he looks and the way he’s going so with ordinary luck and being able to race a bit closer I think he’s a great winning chance.”

Rainbow Thief (pictured) is in the last race, the benchmark 78 handicap over 1400m and jumping from barrier eight under Jordan Childs.

It will be the third race back for the six-year-old after an injury-enforced break.

“He’s getting out to a distance more to his liking and he’s training really well,” Mike said.

“Today he’s back in class and with luck in running I do think he’s a winning chance.

“The barrier could be a little awkward but back in class and with what looks to be speed in the race I do think he will be hard to beat today.”
