TOUR OF DUTY RESUMES TODAY

Two runners for us at Bendigo today with Tour Of Duty resuming and Trail Blazer having his second start this campaign.

Tour Of Duty runs in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1400m with Jordan Childs riding and has pleased Mike Moroney in his trackwork.

“He has come up in terrific order this time and I’m looking forward to a good campaign,” Moroney said.

“My one little concern is the wide barrier which forces us to go back but Jordan will figure that out.

“There are a couple of well-bred first starters which make this race interesting but I’m very pleased with the way our horse has performed in his jumpouts and work at home and I will not be at all surprised to see him running home strongly.”

Trail Blazer (pictured) is in race six, the benchmark64 handicap over 1600m with Jordan Childs aboard.

“He is fitter for his first-up run over 1300m at Sandown where he made up some late ground and he will be better suited over the extra distance today,” Moroney said.

“He’s trained on nicely since but he does seem to have found a race with several chances in it.

“He’s a horse we’ve given time to and he’s always promised to make up into a handy horse so he’s an each-way chance in what does look an open race.”
