DEBUT RUNNERS ON FRIDAY

Two runners at Geelong for us on Friday with Commanding Reign and Cateechee both on debut.

Commanding Reign runs in race three, the 3YO Colts and Geldings Maiden over 1200m with Jake Noonan in the saddle.

The son of Holler has been given time to mature by Mike Moroney.

“It’s a valuable race with the VOBIS bonuses and he’s struck what does look to be a hot field,” Moroney said.

“He gives us the impression he’ll get a little bit further so he might find this a bit on the sharp side.

“In his jumpouts we rode him back to get him to relax and he finished off nicely so if he can do the same today I’ll be satisfied.”

Cateechee runs in race four, the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate over 1200m with Jordan Childs aboard.

“She’s a Lonhro granddaughter of the good mare Shindig that we like and has had a couple of jumpouts to have her ready,” Moroney said.

“In her last one she was close up behind Paris Shiraz which went on finish second at her next start so there is something there.

“Like Commanding Reign she has struck a hot looking field with some well-bred debutantes. She’ll be better for the experience and this is a good place to start her off.”
