PAKENHAM RUNNERS TONIGHT

Madagascar Miss and Livvy Lass represent us at the Pakenham evening meeting.

Madagascar Miss runs in race one, the Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate over 1200m with Jye McNeil aboard.

The three-year-old ran well on debut for second over 1112m at Sale and has pleased Mike Moroney since.

“She’s trained on nicely and I’m happy with her,” Moroney said.

“She had shown us ability in New Zealand so it was nice to see her run well on debut.

“We’ve added a tongue-tie to help her tonight and a repeat of her last start should see her as one of the main chances unless there is something special amongst the first starters.”

Livvy Lass (pictured) is in race seven, the benchmark 70 handicap over 1600m with Michael Walker riding.

Livvy Lass broke through for a win over 1600m in fillies and mares class when narrowly missing out but getting the race in the stewards room.

“She’d run well at her three starts here since arriving from New Zealand so although it was on protest I thought she did well after being struck on the nose inside the final 100m and she has been placed at both her starts at Pakenham,” Moroney said.

“She’s in an open race tonight and goes around on the minimum so in an even looking race she’s an each-way chance.”
