SCISSORS CAN CUT THROUGH ON DEBUT

Day and night runners for us today including Scissors making her debut at Kyneton.

Scissors runs in the first race at Kyneton, the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate over 1200m with Daniel Stackhouse aboard.

The Redoute’s Choice filly has shown good improvement in recent weeks and Mike Moroney is confident of a forward showing.

“She’s really come on in recent weeks and I’m very happy with her,” Moroney said.

“She’s stronger now and showing improvement, her last jumpout was pleasing and my only little concern is how she handles the big field.

“I’m expecting her to be better over further but the way she has come on in recent weeks if she can cope with pressure of race day ai will not be surprised to see her finishing strongly as i do think she has nice ability.”

Snapper (pictured) runs later on at Moonee Valley in race two, the 3YO handicap over 1200m where he will be ridden by Mark Zahra and bidding to make it a hat trick of wins since being gelded.

“He’s done particularly well since his last start win and the field has fallen away a little with scratchings,” Moroney said.

“It does look a handy race with some stakes opposition which makes for an interesting race but I think he’s up to it and provided the track is not too affected from last Saturday I expect him to be hard to beat.”
