Day and night runners for us on Thursday for us with Arctic Stone and Arctic Wolf competing.

Arctic Stone makes her debut in race three at Kilmore, the 3YO Fillies Maiden Plate over 1212m with Damien Thornton.

The daughter of Nicconi came to us as part of the horses from Tom Hughes and has shown Mike Moroney some nice ability in her recent jumpout.

“She’s a good stamp of filly and I have to say she showed some nice ability against some proven older horses in her only jumpout for us,” Moroney said.

“She’s been well schooled and had a bit of practice so she has that experience in her favour.

“She’s drawn barrier five in a nine-horse field and of the one that have raced it does not look to be an overly strong contest.

“Obviously we’re expecting her to be a bit new however, based on what she has shown us in the short time we have had her I do think she can go and be competitive.”

Arctic Wolf (pictured) runs tonight at Pakenham in race five, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1600m with Daniel Stackhouse aboard from barrier three.

“He’s racing well and he’s drawn to get the right run,” Moroney said.

“He should be able to put himself on the speed here and certainly a repeay of his last start third at Ballarat should have him as the horse to beat.

“He was only narrowly beaten last time and carries the same weight tonight so with ordinary luck I expect him to go close to winning.”
