OLD TIME ROCK BREAKS THROUGH

Old Time Rock broke his Maiden stylishly at Ararat today.

Old Time Rock raced in second place to the home turn and then gradually asserted his superiority to go on and win the Maiden Plate (1100m) by 2-1/2 lengths.

“I thought he was impressive and talking to Billy Egan he said the horse travelled like the winner all the way.

“He travelled easily outside the leader and when he asked him to quicken he went on with the job. He might not have beaten a great deal but he’s got some nice attributes and even with the blinkers on he can jump and take a position and then switch off when he’s asked to.

“It’s always good to the get the maiden out of the way and he did it in good style so we will see how he comes out this and go through the calendar and find the next race for him.”

Old Time Rock was a $110,000 Inglis Australian Easter yearling purchase by Paul Moroney and the son of Pride Of Dubai has performed well at his three starts since being gelded.
