SHE'S A THIEF NABS ANOTHER WIN

The freshen-up method worked beautifully with She’s A Thief who dominated her rivals to score at Caulfield today.

Mike Moroney elected to keep the four-year-old on the fresh side for Saturday’s 1100m assignment and the daughter of Showcasing sprang from the outside barrier under Daniel Stackhouse and after taking a stride or two to muster speed rolled to the front and was never headed.

It is the second Caulfield win this preparation for She’s A Thief and Mike Moroney was impressed with the style of victory.

“I thought she was terrific, she was strong through the line and it was just a very good win,” Moroney said.

“The Cockram Stakes looks a nice target for her next month, I just have to have a think on how best to get her there.

“She’s held her condition well this preparation - we were a bit kind to her coming into this race and had her on the fresh side and it worked out well as I thought she was a dominant winner.

“Now that we’ve got her back to her best, I’m confident there is a black type race in her so we’ll see how she is in the nest day or two and work out a plan.”

She’s A Thief was purchased for $30,000 as a yearling at the NZB Sales at Karaka by Paul Moroney and today’s victory took her earnings to beyond $275,000.
