TWO STATE RUNNERS ON SATURDAY

Runners in two states for us on Saturday with Arctic Wolf at home at Flemington and Bianco Nuovo in Adelaide.

Arctic Wolf runs in race six, the 3YO Handicap over 1600m with Daniel Stackhouse riding from barrier one.

The son of Sebring disappointed last time out when drawn barrier one at Caulfield and Mike Moroney is concerned about the barrier again.

“I’m not so sure about the barrier as he’s a horse that doesn’t like to be cluttered up - he’s a big horse so I’d like to see him be able to get off the fence at some stage,” Moroney said.

“It’s a strong race but he gets in well at the weights on the minimum - he’s a horse we’ve always had a good opinion of and I’m sure he’ll be better suited on a track like Flemington.

“His work has been very good and we can’t fault him and if he can get some luck in running then he is capable of running well.”

Bianco Nuovo (pictured) is in race four at Morphettville, the Benchmark 72 Handicap over 1950m on the Parks track with Todd Pannell in the saddle.

The son of Artie Schiller will be happier back on the grass after finishing unplaced on the Synthetic track at Ballarat last start.

“He’s drawn nicely in four and the little bit of give in the track should suit him,” Moroney said.

“His work has been good, he’s travelled over well and from the barrier I’d say he should be able to park just behind the speed.

“It looks an even sort of race, the McEvoy horse Star Of Ussuri looks the one to beat but I think our horse is definitely a winning chance.”
