WINNING CHANCES ON FINALS DAY AT FLEMINGTON

Three runners for us at home on Finals day with Chapada, Milwaukee and Mr Mr Marathon Man to represent us.

Chapada (pictured) is the first to go in race two, the Banjo Paterson Final over 2600m with Daniel Stackhouse aboard again and Mike Moroney is confident.

“He’s only got four to beat now with the scratchings and the soft track is in his favour,” Moroney said.

“There’s some speed in the race which is important - it could develop into a tactical race but our horse can be ridden anywhere so Daniel will know where it’s best to be.

“Our horse has done really well and we couldn’t be happier with him. He’s bright and fit and I think he can win.”

Milwaukee''' runs in race five, the All Victorian Sprint Series over 1200m with Jye McNeil to ride from barrier one.

“He’s drawn barrier one and although it’s rated a soft (7) if there is no more rain it should not be an issue.

“The main thing for him is to get some cover which might be a problem from the barrier.

“He looks terrific and has trained on well, he just needs a little bit of luck from the draw and I’m sure he will be in the finish.”

Mr Marathon Man rounds out our day in race eight, the Winter Championship Final over 1600m with Jamie Mott to ride from barrier 11.

“The barrier isn’t a help as he’s a horse that needs to get cover otherwise he fires up and doesn’t help himself,” Moroney said.

“His work on Tuesday was excellent and I will say it was the most relaxed he has been so if Jamie can get some cover and the horse relaxes I will not be surprised to see him run well at a big price.”
