Three runners for us at Ballarat today including Langworthy on debut.

Langworthy runs in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1400m with Jordan Childs riding and drawn barrier one.

“He’s taken a long time and is a slow maturing sort,” Moroney said.

“He’s beginning to get the hang of things but it’s difficult to know how he will shape. He has definitely turned the corner and is on the improve but he has struck a strong looking race for sure.

“I’d say he will handle the soft going - he’s by Sacred Falls and he was a mudder so it will be interesting to see how he fares today.”

Themagicneverends is the first to go in race three, the Maiden Plate over 2000m with Jordan Childs riding from barrier seven in a field of 12.

“He’s up in trip which should suit him and the softer track will not be an issue,” Moroney said.

“I thought his last start second at Cranbourne was full of merit, he’s improved for that and he’s got a few things in his favour today so I think he should be hard to beat.”

Bianco Nuovo (pictured) runs in race six, the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1600m with Jordan Childs riding and he too has drawn barrier one.

“He will be better suited on the ground today - he wasn’t happy on the heavy track first-up,” Moroney said.

“He looks particularly well and it looks a winnable race to me. He should be able to race on speed from the draw in the small field and should be hard to beat.”
