CHAPADA BREAKS THROUGH AT FLEMINGTON

Things finally fell right for Chapada at Flemington on Saturday and the result was an impressive win.

It's fair to say Chapada has not enjoyed the best of luck in his races however, it went his way in the Carriage Paddock Plate over 2520m.

Enjoying a terrific patient ride from Daniel Stackhouse, Chapada was poised to challenge around the home turn and then accelerated clear to go on and score a comprehensive win.

“i was confident going into the race and he justified it with a well deserved win,” Moroney said.

“This horse has a terrific race brain - yesterday there was a lot of chopping and changing with speed changes and mid-race moves but he stayed relaxed and we saw the result.

“I’m thinking I might give him a little break now and now that we know what is happening in the spring I’d like to aim him at some of the better races.

“He’s matured into a stronger horse and I think he’s up to winning a good race so we’ll give him the chance to do that.”
