SYNTHETIC RUNNERS ON MONDAY

Spanish Peaks and Bellows represent us on the synthetic track at Pakenham on Monday.

Bellows runs in race three, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1400m with Jordan Childs in the saddle.

Bellows made up ground in the home straight last time out over 1200m at Ballarat and goes into the race today fitter.

“He’ll jump from barrier eight after scratchings and he’s fit after two runs this preparation,” Moroney said.

“Looking at his form I think it as good as anything in the race apart from the first starters obviously.

“The prizemoney is excellent with all the bonuses which is why we’ve aimed him at this race and he’s there to run well.”

Spanish Peaks (pictured) is in race six, the Benchmark 58 Handicap over 1600m with Jordan Childs riding from barrier seven after scratchings.

“We’ve decided to run him on the synthetic track as he just didn’t handle the heavy track last start,” Moroney said.

“He’s gradually learning to relax and with a bit more speed in this race we can try and ride him a bit closer.

“If he handles the surface and gets a bit of luck then he is a food chance I think.”
