FEATURE RACE ACTION FOR US ON SATURDAY

Three runners for us today in two states with Chapada and Milwaukee at home and Nerve Not Verve in Adelaide.

Milwaukee (pictured) runs in race five at Flemington, the Furphy Dash over 1000m with Lewis German reducing the weight to 56.6kg from barrier six.

Mike Moroney feels Milwaukee is ready to run well after two runs this preparation.

“He’s fitter here and has trained on particularly well since his last start,” Moroney said.

“He got exposed a bit last time and over raced a bit so we’ll try and find some cover with him today. That should give him a chance to finish off in a race where there looks a fair bit of speed.

“If all goes well then I think he will be hard to beat.”

Chapada runs in race seven, the Lexus Trophy over 2000m with Daniel Stackhouse to ride.

It is the third run this preparation for Chapada which finished fifth last time out over 1700m at Flemington.

“He’s had the two runs back and he’s up to his ideal trip and ideal ground today,” Moroney said.

“He looks terrific and everything is going well with him so with normal luck I’m expecting to run a big race in what looks an even field for this time of year.”

Nerve Not Verve is in race six at Morphettville, the Listed Centaurea Stakes over 2030m with Ryan Hurdle to ride.

“The track is just in the soft range but should improve a bit,” Moroney said.

“She’s drawn well which will be a big help and enable her to be on pace - if she was able to lead then that will not worry me.

“She’s travelled well and settled in well, has eaten up so with ordinary luck I think she will give a great sight and be competitive in what is obviously a harder race.”
