WELL-BRED DEBUTANTE AT BALLARAT ON TUESDAY

Just two runners for us on Tuesday at Ballarat following the balloting of Anything But.

Seattle Dancer (pictured) is set to debut in race one, the 2YO Fillies Maiden over 1000m with Michael Dee riding and to jump from barrier one with eight opponents.

The daughter of Redoute’s Choice has been well prepared with jumpouts and Mike Moroney says possesses natural ability.

“I’m very happy with her,” Moroney said. “She’s still a work in progress so we’re looking for her to do it all in her own time today, especially from the inside draw..

“There are seven first-starters in the race so it’s hard to get a real guide on the opposition.

“Our filly is in good order, has done well and a repeat of her last jumpout should have her in the finish.”

Bellows runs in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1100m with Jordan Childs to ride.

It is the first start this preparation for the son of Zoffany which placed at Sandown in January.

“He’s coming along well and I’m pleased with him. If he jumps cleanly it might be the race for him to press forward.

“He will improve for the run for sure but he’s still forward enough to run well. There are some well credentialled types in the race and like us, are all resuming along with a debutant so it’s tricky to get a real guide on this race but I’m expecting him to run well.”

Unfortunately Anything But did not gain a start in his race with the absence of any scratchings so we will work on the calendar to find a suitable race for him.
