DAY AND NIGHT RUNNERS FOR US ON FRIDAY

Three runners at day and night meetings for us on Friday at Cranbourne and Stawell.

Pollard is the day runner at Stawell and Gottaluvtrucks and Eagle Ridge head to Cranbourne.

Pollard is in race three, the Maiden Plate over 1100m with Fred Kersley to ride and the opposition reduced to six after scratchings.

“He’s had the one run this time in at Werribee and he ran well,” Moroney said.

“He’s fitter today and the scratchings have helped with the barrier so I’d be thinking he can go there and run well.

“He was placed in his only run in soft ground last time out so the track should not be a disadvantage.”

Gottaluvtrucks won last time out over 1700m at Warrnambool and he goes in race six tonight at Cranbourne, the benchmark 64 handicap over 2025m with Jordan Childs in the saddle and to jump from barrier three.

“He’s done well since and he’s ready for the step up in trip however, this does look a stronger race,” Moroney said.

“The draw will help and he’s a winner on soft ground so the conditions should not be a problem.

“From the draw he should be able to race handy and although this does look a harder race I’m expecting him to run well.”

Eagle Ridge (pictured) runs in race seven, the benchmark 70 handicap over 1300m and drawn barrier one with Jordan Childs to ride.

The son of Turffontein disappointed at Morphettville last time out but Moroney is expecting a better effort tonight.

“He raced a bit keen last start and didn’t really help the rider.” Moroney said.

“He’s had a little freshen up since then and is nice and bright so if he can get a nice smother from the barrier I’d say he will be there finishing on.”
