THREE NICE CHANCES FOR US ON FRIDAY

Day and night runners for us on Friday with Flying Mr Davis at Sale and Bill The Bee and Rue de Rennes under lights tonight at Moonee Valley.

Bill The Bee (pictured) is in race six tonight, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1600m with Jessica Eaton in the saddle and reducing the weight to 58.5kg.

Bill The Bee finished third over 1600m at Moonee Valley last start and Mike Moroney is anticipating another forward showing tonight.

“It does look a winnable race for him and we’ve decided to use Jess Eaton to help with the weight. She has a great record on front runners as well and that will be our plan.

“He’s fit and well and provided things go our way I do think he’s a great chance of winning.”

Rue de Rennes runs in race four, the fillies & mares benchmark 70 handicap over 1600m with Fred Kersley to ride.

It is the second start this preparation for Rue de Rennes following her unplaced effort at Sandown on January 27.

“She’s drawn nicely and we’ve claimed to help her,” Moroney said. “She’s trained well since her first-up run and is in good order.

“I was happy enough with her first start as a stayer and with the rain we’ve had this week to help take the sting out of the track plus the scratchings I think she’s in there with an each-way chance in what does not look the strongest of races.”

Flying Mr Davis has finished runner-up at his last three starts and gets his chance to go one better in race four, the Maiden Plate over 2226m with Michael Dee in the saddle.

“He’s knocking on the door for sure and he just keeps finding one a bit better,” Moroney said.

“I can’t fault him, he’s still got a spring in his step and bright as a button. We’ve switched jockeys just to try something a little different - Mick Dee is a left-handed whip rider and that might just be the positive he needs.

“It’s getting a little frustrating running these placings but I do think if things go his way then he gets his chance today.”
