THREE CHANCES FOR US AT SANDOWN ON WEDNESDAY

Three runners for us on the Lakeside course at Sandown with Buffalo Bill, Anything But and Wham taking part.

Buffalo Bill is the first to go in race three, the benchmark 64 handicap over 2400m with Michael Dee to ride from barrier nine.

Buffalo Bill has finished second at his last three starts and Mike Moroney has made some gear changes for today’s race

“We’ve put a one-eyed blinker and a pricker on him as he tends to lay in which is also why we’ve put Michael Dee on as he’s a strong left handed whip rider,” Moroney said.

“We’ve done we can to help him, he’s nice and fit but this is stronger opposition.

“I think he should have won last start and if he can get ordinary luck than I think he will be in the finish, especially if he can get close to the speed from the barrier.”

Anything But runs in race four, the benchmark 64 handicap over 1600m with Jake Noonan riding from barrier seven.

The son of Savabeel is racing well and finished third over 1600m at Sandown last time out on January 22.

“He’s trained on terrific and he should be at his best coming into this race,” Moroney said.

“That said he will need to be as it looks a handy enough race.

“I can’t fault our horse and I’m going into the race with a degree of confidence.”

Wham (pictured) rounds out the day in the last race, the benchmark 78 handicap over 1400m with Jordan Childs again in the saddle from the outside barrier 12 after the scratchings.

Blinkers aided Wham to victory last time out over 1400m at Sandown on the Lakeside course and Moroney is expecting another forward showing in this stronger class.

“Normally I would have scratched from the outside but he’s a go back horse and with his pattern of racing I’m happy to take our chance,” Moroney said.

“It’s a strong race as you would expect but he’s nice and bright, has trained on well and we’ll see how he has progressed.”
