SUNDAY RUNNERS AT SEYMOUR

Seminoles and Bishop Rock are our Sunday representatives at Seymour on Kilmore Cup day.

Bishop Rock is the first to go in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1100m with Michael Dee riding from barrier 10.

The son of Fastnet Rock finished sixth last time out over 1400m behind Russian Camelot and Mike Moroney has elected to drop the gelding back in distance.

“He’s confused us a bit,” Moroney said. “He shapes like a stayer but races like a sprinter so we’ve given him a little freshen and drop him back in distance.

“He’s done well since his last start where he did bump into a smart one and there are four unraced horses in the race today.

"On exposed form our horse should be in ihe finish, the wide draw is not a help but the meeting is at Seymour so it may not be as much of a disadvantage as if we were at Kilmore.”

Seminoles goes in race nine, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1600m with Jake Noonan in the saddle nd starting from barrier two in the field of eight.

Seminoles finished strongly to score first-up over 1400m on a heavy track at Ballarat on November 4 and Moroney feels the extra distance of this race will suit the son of Reliable Man.

“He certainly deserved the win last start after being consistent at his previous preparation,” Moroney said. “He’s obviously out of Maiden class now and today will be harder but I expect him to be competitive,

“He’s done well sin the win and depending on how the track is racing late in the day I’m expecting him to run well.”
