Two last start winners represent the stable at the Ballarat metropolitan meeting on Wednesday

Chicago Cub (pictured) is in race seven, the Berchmark 70 Handicap over 1100m, jumping from barrier seven after scratchings and with Michael Poy reducing his weight to 57kg.

The son of Zoustar finished stronglly to win over 1000m at Bendigo first-up three weeks ago and has done well since according to Mike Moroney.

“He’s struck a strong race with good form in it however, our horse gets a bit of weight relief and we’ve always had a good opinion of him,” Moroney said.

“Today will be interesting to see how he handles this better grade but he’s trained on lovely and he’s definitely a winning chance.”

King Landon runs in race eight, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1600m with Luke Currie riding from barrier three.

The son of Testa Rossa finished determinedly to break his maiden over 1720m at Geelong on September 15 and is up in class today.

“He’s got a lovely draw and he’s coming off a nice win,” Moroney said. “This is obviously a step up in class but I’m happy with him, he’s trained on well and looks terrific.

“It’s a handy enough race with a bit of form in it.

“He’s still improving I think and it will not surprise me if can take the step up.”
