THREE RUNNERS ACROSS THE COUNTRY ON SATURDAY

We have three runners across the country on Saturday, headed by Tofane in a feature race at Morphettville.

Tofane (pictured) runs in race eight at Morphettville, the Group 2 Euclase Stakes over 1200m with Dwayne Dunn to ride from barrier three after scratchings.

Tofane finished strongly at her last start when fifth over 1100m at Caulfield after winning impressively at Ballarat

“It’s a step up in class for her and a strong race as you would expect for a Group Two,” Moroney said.

“That said, we’ve always rated our filly and comes into this in good form after a luckless run at Caulfield.

“Ideally she’ll be able to get some cover early and than get the clear run at the right time.

“She’s travelled well and settled in well - she’s an exciting filly and I’m sure she will run well.”

Tribal Wisdom runs in Queensland at the Gold Coast in race six, the Australian Turf Club Trophy over 1400m with Kerrin McEvoy riding from barrier 10 after scratchings.

The track is currently heavy which will suit however, the barrier is a concern for Moroney.

“The barrier is awkward for sure,” Moroney said. “The conditions will be in his favour and if he brings his A-game then I think he will be hard to beat.

“He’s come on terrific from his last start in Sydney where he’d had a few weeks between runs after a long time off and I think this race looks a good spot for him.”

Milwaukee is our home runner when he starts in the last race at Flemington, the Efficient Handicap over 1200m with Michael Poy reducing his weight and jumping from the outside barrier of 14.

It is the third run this preparation for Milwaukee

“I don’t think the draw is the problem,” Moroney said. “He’s had a few injuries but if he’s at his best then I think he’s the best horse in the race.

“He’s unbeaten on the straight course and he gets the weight relief.

“The question is if he’s at his best - he’s had the two runs back now so we’ll see on Saturday.
