SUNDAY RUNNERS AT GEELONG

Gottaluvtrucks and Flying Mr Davis are our two Sunday runners when they travel to Geelong.

Gottaluvtrucks is in race two, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1312m with Jordan Childs to ride from barrier one.

The son of Camelot finished fourth over 1435m at Geelong at his last start on April 4.

“He’s got a lovely draw and Jordan has had some practice on the horse,” Moroney said.

“We’ve put a tongue tie on him to help him and I’m expecting that with a quieter ride he can run a better race.

“On his trackwork you would expect him to go close so with ordinary luck he has his chance today.”

Flying Mr Davis runs in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1715m with Rhys McLeod to ride and has an important gear change.

It is the third run this preparation for the son of Savabeel, who last raced over 1600m at Pakenham on April 11.

“I’ve kept him at this trip as I’ve put the blinkers on him,” Moroney explained. “The main thing is to get him concentrating and I’ll be happy if he can do that and find the line.

“I’ve always thought he’s an out and out stayer but I’d just like to get him more focussed.

“His work has been good and he’s steadily improving so we will try the blinkers and see if they help him. I’ll be happy as long he is running on at the finish.”
