DOUBLE HANDED AT SANDOWN ON WEDNESDAY

We have two runners at the twilight meeting at Sandown on Wednesday when Louisville Lip and Rue de Rennes line up in the same race.

Louisville Lip and Rue de Rennes are both in race five, the Blue Star Print Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1800m with Jason Benbow to ride Louisville Lip from barrier two and Michael Poy on Rue de Rennes from barrier four.

It will be the seventh run this preparation for Louisville Lip, who was scheduled to run on Sunday but was withdrawn due to the wet track.

“He’s drawn well but this is obviously a tougher race but on a better track at Sandown then we will find out where we are at with him, Mike Moroney said.

“He looks great and continues to work well and if he runs up to his work then I feel he will be competitive.”

Rue de Rennes (pictured) comes into the race off an impressive Maiden win last start over 2030m at Mornington.

“She’s drawn nicely and while this race represents a big jump in class I would prefer to run her on a big roomy track which will suit her better,” Moroney said.

“We’ve put Michael on and after the claim she gets in with just 53.5kg which will certainly help.

“From that draw and with any sort of luck in the run then I do think she can run well.”
