TWO CHANCES IN THE SAME RACE AT SALE ON SUNDAY

Two runners in the same race for the stable at Sale on Sunday.

The Delphi and Lofty Heights are both engaged in race four, the Maiden Plate over 1717m with Patrick Moloney aboard Lofty Heights from barrier three and Jason Benbow on The Delphi from barrier five.

It is the second race start for Lofty Heights who made good ground on debut over 1400m at Bendigo from a wide draw.

“He’s drawn nicely so that should help and mean he doesn’t have to be as far back,” Moroney said.

“Ideally he can come out neutral and find his spot, hopefully with a bit of cover, and settle midfield.

“If that happens and he relaxes than I do think he will be extremely competitive. He continues to improve and while we are still working on his mental game I am sure he will make up into a nice horse.”

The Delphi is having his first start since having a throat operation and Moroney has made a tactical decision with jockey.

“I’ve put Jason Benbow on, apart from the fact he is a good jockey, he can use the whip in his left hand and I’m thinking this will give the horse a bit of a surprise,” Moroney said.

“He can be a bit sluggish so a wake up will not hurt him.

“He needs it further but with the blinkers back on and from the barrier he should run a nice race and then we can work him out from here.”
