RUNNERS IN TWO STATES TUESDAY

Runners in two states for the stable on Tuesday with Bonnieux at Kembla and Equestria at Bendigo.

Equestria (pictured) resumes in the fifth race, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1100m where will jump from barrier eight under Patrick Moloney.

The three-year-old has not raced since finishing third at Sale last September but has pleased Mike Moroney in his preparation.

“He’s strengthened since his last preparation and looks in good order,” Moroney said.

“His work and jumpouts have been good and this looks a nice race to start him off.

“He’s meeting some seasoned older horses so it will give us a good idea of where he’s at.

“He’s got a little bit of a tough draw but we’re expecting him to run well.”

Bonnieux is in race one at Kembla, the 3YO Maiden Plate over 1000m where she will jump from barrier five under Christian Reith.

The daughter of Choisir resumed with a solid second over 1100m at Ballarat last month after leading.

“She looked the winner last start but just got tired the last little bit,” Moroney said.

“The race today is that bit shorter which should suit and she’s fitter for the first-up run.

“We were having no luck with barriers in Victoria and we’ve drawn barrier five she should be there on speed and get every chance.

“We’ve sent her for this race as she’s eligible for some nice BOBS bonuses so it would be terrific for connections if she can get the win.”
