FORCE CAN STRIKE IN SYDNEY

Strike Force is our only runner on Saturday when he runs in Sydney.

Strike Force in race five at Rosehill, the Benchmark 80 Handicap over 2000m where he will be ridden by Tim Clark.

Mike Moroney explained the reason why he has sent Strike Force north.

“He’s gone there in really good form and he travelled well,” Moroney said.

“The main reason for this race is to get a fell for him going right-handed under race pressure as we’re aiming at a Magic Millions race at the Gold Coast in January with him.

“It is also a way to find out if he can get the distance as we are targeting the 2200m race at the Gold Coast.”

Strike Force last raced on November 24 when finishing a respectable third in the Wodonga Cup over 1590m.

On Saturday he has 60kg in his second attempt at the distance.

“He’s found himself in a strong race and he’s going to need a little bit of luck from the draw to try and get some cover,” Moroney said.

“If we have to use him up too much early we are not likely to find out if he gets the distance.

“With ordinary luck we are expecting him to run well.”
