MOJESTIC AND BATTLE ZONE HEAD TO BALLARAT

Just the two runners for the stable at Ballarat on Tuesday following the scratching of Bolek.

Mojestic runs first in race four, the Fillies and Mares Benchmark64 Handicap over 1600m before Battle Zone runs in race seven, the Benchmark58 Handicap over 2200m.

Mojestic (pictured) resumed with a solid effort to finish sixth over 1411m at seymour on November 2 and the four-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo has pleased Mike Moroney since.

“She’s trained on really well and she’s a winner on the course over the distance, so things have fallen nicely for her,” Moroney said.

“There is some form in the race even though there are only five for her to beat so it will not be easy but we’re very happy with her.

“She’s improved a lot into this preparation and I think she should be in the finish.”

Battle Zone is also running for the second time this preparation however, Moroney is concerned about the state of the track.

“We’re very happy with him and the way he’s going but the state of the ground is a worry,” Moroney said.

“It’s listed as a soft(6) and he doesn’t really have any form on badly affected ground.

“We’re assuming the ground will improve with the warmer weather through the day so we’re going to let him take his chance.

“He’s building up to get over further and if the track continues to dry out then he can be in the finish.”
