LADY LOFT TO RUN AT MORNINGTON

Lady Loft is the only runner for the stable on Monday following a successful spring carnival at Flemington.

Lady Loft runs in the first race at Mornington, the Evergreen Turf Plate over 1200m for fillies and mares.

The three-year-old daughter of Roman Emperor ran on well to finish second over 1000m at Ballarat when she resumed on October 26.

Although only a small field of six, Mike Moroney feels it is a competitive race.

“She has got good early speed so I think she should be able to put herself in the race,” Moroney said.

“If she can position just near the lead it will give her a good chance around a track like Mornington.

“Although the small field could make things tricky it does look a winnable race for her.”

Lady Loft will be racing for just the third time on Monday but has shown Moroney enough to be looking forward to the future.

“She’s got natural talent but I do think she will be better next time around as she strengthens up,” Moroney said.

“She’s still a little bit immature in mind and body but we do like her.”
