THREE GOOD CHANCES AT KYNETON FOR THE STABLE ON WEDNESDAY

We have San Vincenzo, Lord Barrington and Eagle Ridge running for us at Kyneton on Wednesday.

Eagle Ridge is the first to go in race two, starting for the first time in the 3YO Maiden over 1200m.

The son of Turffontein has been accepted with three times this preparation but withdrawn due to outside barriers.

Mike Moroney says it is time to get Eagle Ridge started from barrier eight in a field of 10.

“Wednesday is less than ideal but it’s the best number he has got so far,” Moroney said.

“With the VOBIS bonuses the prize pot is excellent so we will let him take his chance.

“He’s going really well at home, happy with his work and he goes to the races nice and fit so we’re expecting him to run a nice race.”

San Vincenzo runs in race five, the Benchmark 64 Handicap over 1850m where he will carry 60kg with Patrick Moloney in the saddle.

Despite the weight Moroney is confident San Vincenzo will run well at his third run this preparation.

“It does look the right race for him,” Moroney said. “He’ll likely press forward and race close to the speed.

“He is normally fast away and he’s certainly fit enough now to sustain that sort of pressure.

“If he can take his trackwork to the races then we are expecting him to be hard to beat.”

Lord Barrington (pictured) rounds out the trio in race seven, the Benchmark 84 Handicap over 1200m.

Although it is only a small field of nine, Lord Barrington has drawn awkwardly in eight.

“It’s not the best of draws,” Moroney said. “However, he has run his best races when he’s been drawn out and can flow forward.

“There doesn’t appear to be a huge amount of speed in the race so we’re thinking he can cross and get to the lead.

“We’ve increased his work a little recently to trim him up and he’s nice and fit so with ordinary luck we’re expecting him to figure in the finish.”
